Ooh Ooh Baby
Ooh Ooh Baby
January 2008
artificial pumpkin, baboon taxidermy form and mixed media
73” X 60” X 60”

Description: From the exhibit, MORE: The Cautionary Tale of Britney Spears, the piece's title is borrowed from Britney's release Ooh Ooh Baby. The exhibit uses Britney Spears as the construct for a fairy tale, an exuberant narrative warning of the ultimate demise of a moribund society of privilege. Disguised as a bazaar satirical burlesque, the show first appears to be a simple poke at Britney Spears. Under the surface, the show paints a picture of a collective consciousness consumed with an insatiable lust for more, numbed by over-consumption and a collective loss of spirituality, and disengaged from the insecurity of our future.
